A ledger, not a guess
Quantity on hand is built from an append-only record of sales, returns, purchases, transfers and stock-take adjustments, so you can always see why a number changed.
Warehouses and branches
Keep stock per warehouse, move it between locations with a transfer, and see what each branch holds.
Reorder before you run out
Set reorder levels and see which products are low. Record purchases from suppliers, and keep track of what you still owe them.
