Tax and receipts for your shop: what to set up in your POS
A good receipt protects both you and your customer. Which taxes apply to you depends on your business and turnover, so confirm the rates with the Ghana Revenue Authority or your accountant, then set them once in your POS.
What a receipt should show
Your shop name and contact, the date and time, each item with quantity and price, the total, how it was paid, and a unique receipt number.
Setting a tax rate
Akoma POS lets you choose no tax, a flat rate or a standard rate, and applies it to every sale so the cashier does not calculate it by hand.
Keep the record unchanged
Sales should not be edited after the fact. Correct a mistake with a return or a new sale, so your records stay trustworthy.
Make receipts verifiable
A receipt code and QR let anyone confirm the sale is real, which helps with disputes and with showing your records to an accountant.
